One Piece Episode 746 Review

The Numerous Rivals Struggle Amongst Themselves! The Raging Monsters Of The New World

Despite it's long title for an episode, I have to say it's better than the last. In episode 745, in the last 6 minutes or so, it looked more like the animators were stalling to use up the remaining time for the episode. In this episode we’re shown the continuation of Luffy’s banquet with his newly formed grand fleet. With a total of seven pirate captains from different ships, the Straw Hat Grand Fleet is not to be underestimated. The fleet itself is comprised pf 5640 people who all vowed their loyalty to Monkey D. Luffy.

Even though if Luffy is against having a fleet in the first place, I believe that they'll be helpful in the future. Seriously, Luffy is the first character where I'll ever hear something like "I don't like many people on board because it gets crowded!". Sometimes I wonder why I love this knucklehead so much.

Next we see an insight of Dressrossa's progress. The people were happily celebrating their new king despite the destruction of their country. King Riku and Viola shares an inspiring speech to the people and also formally introducing the faeries to their people. After their program, Rebecca and Mansherry go around town to gather ingredients for the upcoming reunion with Rebecca's small family. In my opinion they should continue rebuilding houses and repairing roads instead of making statues of their 'heroes'.

Interestingly we are shown a short scene of the former CP9 plotting in the shadows in Dressrossa. I just hope that they're not going to cause trouble in the future--Scratch that they always do. I hate them for making Robin cry! It's a mystery to why they're still active... I guess Oda will reveal things in the future.

Back to the Marine's, Doflamingo explains to Tsuru that it's only the beginning of the battle to the 'throne'. Presumably the title of being 'Pirate King', which has been the objectives of most pirates who sail out. Doflamingo is officially my favorite antagonist. I just love how Eichiro Oda gave him such a tragic past and a twisted personality. Though sometimes I question my taste for men (or in my case, fictional characters).

My favorite scene is where Luffy boards the Barto Club Ship wherein they saw different features of the ship relating much to theirs and their crew. I can't help but laugh with Luffy as Bartolomeo and his crew 'fan-boys' over 'Luffy-sempai'. It's really funny to see an actual Straw Hat fan in the anime itself. The Barto Club must be Eiichiro Oda's view of fans these days which I can't help but agree with.
Mister Luffy Go (It's the name of the ship)
Even if Bartolomeo has a scary looking appearance and the hair of a chicken's butt, I love his character since he respects our protagonists. It's also funny that we see how he's very rude to other people other than the Straw Hats, like Trafalgar Law. And will only listen to orders coming from Luffy himself or the rest of the Straw Hats.

Though the disappointing part was the ending of the episode. I do not recall any antagonist (?) who looks like Zoro with a bandana on in the manga. I can only assume that the next episode will be a filler.

All the screenshots were done by me! (the laptop I was using had no print screen option)
