Shoes

I can't seem to pick the right one

Every time I go out to buy shoes, I can't seem to get the right one for me. Most of the time, the shoes that me and my dad would buy would be too small. On the other hand, when I'm with my mom, the shoe fits just right. In other words, my dad and I don't know how to pick shoes.

Just a few weeks ago, I needed to get a pair of heels for the prom. The problem was that I was going with my dad to Mapua that Saturday. I asked my mom to show me the kind of heels that I would buy so that we could go to the nearest SM to get a pair of it. In the end we weren't able to find the exact same heels in SM. Instead, we bought shoes that looked like it. My mom got a bit mad that the heels were a darker color and that it was three inches high instead of two. The good part was that we were able to buy both the heels and a pair of red flats for about Php990. Then there was another occurrence two years ago where my rubber shoes got broken in the middle of walking with my dad to Mapua. We had to go to that same SM and bought a new pair. The problem was that the rubber shoes that we bought was a bit too small for me and my feet ached by the end of the day. We had no other choice but to give those pair of shoes away, what a waste.

To conclude, I really don't know how to choose shoes that are my size. It's only recently that I figured out my shoe size is 36-37 or 6 in adult size. It's a bit embarrassing that I don't know how to choose a pair of shoes for myself.

Talents

Everybody has one.

I believe that everyone has a talent. Whether it's being talkative or just plain sleeping, a talent is something unique in an individual that most people don't have. When we think of the word 'talent' we often think of it as singing or dancing, or maybe even in a form of art. The thing is, almost anything can be called a talent.

Talents come in two ways, you either worked hard for it or you're just a natural at it. Most people don't discover their natural talent, they might not even find it at all. We are often faced with a much bigger challenge; working for it. When people strive to be good at something. there is usually a motive to it. Boys might go to the gym and work out to impress a girl they like. A girl might start having singing lessons to join a choir. There is always an ulterior motive behind what everyone is working hard for, so what if there's no actual goal? There's a possibility that the person just wants to develop better handwriting or maybe even a better version of themselves. The latter is proven true as majority of people wants to fit in the society. People 'enhance' themselves in order to keep up with the ever growing community. We want to feel as if we're part of something. If we don't have that 'special thing' that makes us part of something, people will feel lonely. Talents are also what binds us together as a community. We need to cover up each and every one's weaknesses with our own strengths.

Everyone has a talent. We just have to find the right one that suites us. In fact, we just do what we want to do and show the world "Hey! this is me!" in big red bold letters.

Mystic Messenger Game review

A Messenger Visual Novel (English Opening sung by: JubyPhonic)

This game has been trending over the past year. Fortunately I'm able to play it now. The downside is the mechanics of the game. Unlike most visual novels, wherein you wait for your energy to refill after 4 hours or so, this is the type of visual novel where you have to adjust to it. The actual story or 'conversation' doesn't start unless someone other than you goes 'online'. Basically it's a visual novel in a form of a group chat with hot anime characters. This style of visual novel blew in the anime community. It didn't matter to them whether their voices were dubbed in Korean, just give them a two dimensional character to talk to then it will be big within the anime clubs.

I did like the fact where a character would call you occasionally. Since this is a mobile game the game developers were probably thinking of something unique. Within the game you'll only be given eleven days to play. Everyday at a certain hour or so, a chatroom will appear and you have a chance to participate in it. If you miss the chatroom because you were busy at that hour, then that's no problem! In Mystic Messenger you can view the chat rooms you missed and how the conversation went without you participating in. You do have the chance to join that chatroom you missed for a certain kind of expense.

Vocaloid Song Review #6

Lost One's Weeping (Multi-language Version)

English Translation:

Feel it cutting into me, the doubting painful knife

Feel it deepening the rift, finally hit just right

Couldn’t take the love I had, so weak and burning low

But it grew into a weapon only hurting me, this I know

…is nonfiction

So good with numbers, science, math I like

But I’m terrible at English so I despise

This part of me that wants a simple “right or wrong”

And I feel that everything I choose will always be false

And today

This homework

About me

A blank sheet

Accomplished

Content with

This life I will now live

‘Til I think why are we

just sometimes no always

Saying how we’re sad and

Saying how we’re lonely?

Can you even read the blackboard written clear as can be?

Can you even read his mind? See that kid’s lost fantasy?

Can you even find the one who dyed his red heart to black?

Hey, who could it be?

Hey, someone tell me!

Can you even solve the question with your abacus yet?

Can you even stop the rope from hanging him by his neck?

Did we really choose it right saying we’re okay this way?

Hey, just tell me how
It’s not like I care now

Counting days like numbers, they all pass their prime

And again hypnotically swimming through time

Behind the power and guards I put up

I hide

Knowing they had long died

From problems

My resolve

Just can’t solve

That homework

Accomplished

Content with

This life I will now live

‘Til I think and he speaks

That demon inside us

Saying “let me just leave”

Saying “someone kill me!”

Hey just tell me how

Hey just tell me how!

Can you even say the formula of area now?

Can you even scream the dreams you swore would never go out?

Who was the one who let my hopes just curl up die?

Hey, who could it be?

No, it’s gotta be…

Just open up your eyes, why don’t you grow up and see?

But what the hell is “growing up” and tell me when will I be?

Can a single person out there just explain it to me?

Hey, just tell me how

It’s not like I care now!
(English Translyrics by: JubyPhonic)
--------------------------------------------------------------
I can say that this song can represent most of the teenagers today. The stress from school is overwhelming. It doesn't comfort us at all to hear that we'll be doing twice or maybe even quadruple times the work once we reach college. In fact, this song mirrors the thoughts in Japanese Highschool students before they actually commit suicide. In fact, Japan is in one of the top countries with the highest suicidal rate. It was believed to be because of their education system. In Japan, it is a standard for school to start at 8:30am, not so bad, right? But they leave the school at 6:30pm. That's a full 10 hours just being at school! In total they spend 240 days a year at school, this is 60 days more than the American education system! Students who get to school in a car are considered rich. Those who cannot afford this luxury go to school on a bike or by public transportation. It's no wonder why these students kill themselves, the stress is just piling up.

From their unusually long school hours students have club activities after their academic studies, this is why they leave the school by 6:30pm. It's also common in Japan that students will work after graduating from High school. Students rarely get into college, if they do they're either rich of got in by scholarships. Now suicide rates because of stress are at 34.3% in Japan, while depression is at the top of the list. I therefore conclude that this suicidal song originally sung by Kagamine Rin has a much darker shade than it's already black lyrics.

Attack on Titan: Wings of Freedom ps4 game review

Titans are approaching

This game went viral last 2016. It became popular due to it's anime "Attack on Titan" or "Shingeki no Kyojin". The game focuses on a 'slash-and-hack' type of gameplay wherein you must maneuver the character with the help of the 3DMG (Three Dimensional Maneuvering Gear) to kill a titan. The story line follows the anime and the manga. It actually took me a while to finish the entire game. After finishing the game I was much more surprised that there was another mode called "True Expedition Mode" (Since the main story was in "Expedition Mode"). At first I was wondering "Why do the characters in AOT keep complaining how they run out of spare blades and gas? I've barely even used mine!" and that I quickly realized my mistake when I sealed the deal with True Expedition Mode. I was DYING. Every time that I would position myself to kill a titan, it would grab me almost immediately. Even until today I've not yet finished the True Expedition Mode. This game is really enjoyable since I get to play the story again but on a difficult level. I'm satisfied that the two thousand and eight hundred pesos didn't go to waste.

Kiznaiver review

Interesting

"The anime's setting is a fictional Japanese city named Sugomori City. One day, Noriko Sonosaki tells her classmate Katsuhira Agata, "You have been selected to be a Kiznaiver." The Kizuna System, which allows Katsuhira to share his wounds, connects him to the classmates whose lives and personalities completely differ from his. The Kizuna System is an incomplete system for the implementation of world peace that connects people through wounds. All those who are connected to this system are called Kiznaivers. When one Kiznaiver is wounded, the system divides and transmits the wound among the other Kiznaivers. Sugomori City is built on reclaimed land, but as the years go by, the city's population is decreasing. The story is set in this town where Katsuhira and the others live."  -Summary

It was new to me the first time Joey, The Anime Man, mentioned it in a video. He noted that the art was great and I grew curious to what it was about. Indeed the art was good at first but it gets better. I have to say, the art style was very similar to MekakuCity Actors. The more interesting part of it is the plot line. In the story Noriko is so lenient on making humans understand one another. She does this through the means of 'connecting' each others' pain. That was where the story began.

We were introduced to a small group of characters with opposing personalities. Our main hero, Katsuhira Agata, is a boy who does not feel pain. Because of this he is unable to feel any difficult emotion such as love. Noriko is surprisingly much like him. In her case she's pretty stoic and is emotionless at times. Now, I haven't watched the entire season yet but I was surprised that I liked it despite being under the Sci-fi genre. I'm really inspired by the character's designs. They have very unique personality that goes well for each of their appearance. I still don't get why Katsuhira is called the 'Imbecile' in the anime.

Birthday (Mom's)

Happy Birthday!

I wonder if my mom is still checking out my blogs... Anyway, (advanced) happy birthday to her! My mom will be turning a year older by tomorrow. She's been a good friend and a better mother. I can't say 'best' because the best among the rest is Jesus. I'm so thankful that God had given me my mother to raise me. If she weren't my mother, I would have been a different person by then. She's very strong when it comes to her decisions and faithful to Jesus. She may not be the strongest (emotionally) out there but she's strong enough for me. I've always admired her hard work and for ten years I've been wanting to give to her a proper gift. Not some hand written birthday card or another drawn self- portrait of her (she gets those from me almost every year). I can finally give to her a cake and a small birthday party with just the four of us (my dad comes home late and won't probably ever make it).

She's been broken, beaten down and was just plain miserable. I want to show her a year of 'happiness' where we can all be together outside of our own illusion called 'reality'.

Laptop

Not really impressed...

I've asked for a desktop and my dad gives me a laptop. I appreciate it, I really do. It's just that there will always be my expectations rivaling my reality. I like the laptop I got, that's no lie. It's like one terabyte with great audio and monitor. I just felt a little disappointed that my dad rushed just to get me this laptop. I'm pretty sure that he did rush to get me this laptop (since he bought it in full price) but I wished that he helped my brothers first. Yesterday, my youngest brother's glasses needed to be fixed. He completely forgot about it so my brother has to walk half blindly around the school today. Second is my other brother, the middle child. He had a group project with some friends yesterday and he needed to be home before three pm since that's the time they'll be coming over. In the end his friends did the project elsewhere leaving my brother out of the group with no grades.

So I may have finally gotten my laptop but because that it affected my brothers, I felt really sad and disappointed for not letting their task be done first. Since the entire laptop thing was so sudden, I had to rush earlier at school on what I'm planning to download first, what video I'm going to make for my YouTube channel etc.

YouTube Channel

Future YouTuber

I've been thinking of making a new Youtube channel for a while now. I haven't even executed the first part of my plan because of two reasons. One, the laptop I'm using is our 'family' laptop. Every five minutes or so my brothers would be asking me for the laptop again. If I were to make videos in this laptop then I'll be disturbed during the making of it. Second, There's not enough space within the laptop. There's a lot of different files from almost everyone in the family here. From games to lecture notes, we have it in the laptop.

I think that this youtube channel will help me improve on my animation. Much like Domics, I'll be making videos just like that with a touch of Akidearest and The Anime Man. I'd want my content to be related to anime as much as possible and with a few of my life stories in the background. I've already requested a computer from my dad but being the kind of person he is, I know I'll get it a few weeks later. I might just annoy him this Saturday, since we have a checkup I'll remind him to get me a desktop with a new headset complete with a microphone.

Bugs (part 2)

Insects and the like

As a girl, you'd expect most of the time that they'd be afraid of bugs. In my case I'm cool with them as long as they don't fly to me at high speed. I have killed cockroaches before, spiders, mosquitoes etc. But one thing that I really hate are butterflies. Sure their wings may be really pretty but one episode of Spongebob really did the trick to make me fear those fluttering creatures. I'm pretty cool around most of the insects that I see. I haven't seen a grasshopper before and I don't plan on seeing one because size matters. If the insect is small, I can easily overpower them with my mighty slipper. If the insect is at least bigger than what they should usually be at, I's stay at least ten meters away from it.

There has been a few incidents where I really was scared of insects. The first one was when I first saw a huge spider. I'm pretty sure that it's not a tarantula because it was at least a foot big. No joke. It had long and hairy arms and it's eyes were just disgusting. Before I knew it, the spider was gone. Weird. The next incident was also pretty traumatizing. My cousins and I were going back upstairs to the bedroom in my grandmother's house to play games. Just as we entered the room, they saw a cockroach by the frame of the bed. Me, being the braver one, took a slipper and approached the vermin carefully. But alas, it knew my next move and decided to fly right into my face. Luckily, I was able to dodge the thing and ran downstairs with my tail between my legs.

Yuri on Ice review

Gay men figure skating.

"After suffering a crushing defeat during the Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final and other failed showings at other skating competitions, Yuri Katsuki develops mixed feelings about ice skating and puts his career on hiatus, going to college in Detroit and later returning to his hometown of Hasetsu in Kyushu. He visits his childhood friend Yuko at an ice rink known as "Ice Castle Hasetsu" and perfectly mimics an advanced skating routine performed by famous Russian figure skater Victor Nikiforov, who is Yuri's idol. When secretly recorded footage of Yuri's performance is uploaded to the internet, it catches the attention of Victor, who travels to Kyushu and offers to coach Yuri and restart his figure skating career. Together with Victor, Yuri aims to win the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating series as he battles against his rival, Yuri Plisetsky, a 15-year-old rising star skater from Russia." -Summary

Naturally, I was completely unaware of the latest anime that was going on about in the year 2016. I never heard of an anime called 'Yuri on Ice'. I assumed that it was an anime of women ice skating, most likely figure skating. I was completely wrong. It was about men's figure skating. From their flexible bodies to their slim builds, I was pretty sure that time that everyone in that anime was gay.

I didn't get pretty inclined to it. In the previous post I did say some things to myself to think negatively about the sport. It's because I can't go to an ice skating rink that is several cities away from home just for training or practices. I just got into the story which was getting pretty interesting until the end. Unsurprisingly, it became a romance story between Katsuki Yuri and Victor Nikiforov by the end of the series. A second season hasn't been announced so the first season is pretty short with only twelve episodes.

Last year, Yuri on Ice did get popular within the female population and I know a few male viewers as well. The opening was really catchy and grasped the theme of the anime well. The song is pretty catchy as well.

Assassination Classroom season 1 review

Discrimination

"A strange new teacher is introduced to Class 3-E at Kunugigaoka Junior High School. The teacher is a round-headed, tentacled octopoid creature capable of moving at speeds of up to Mach 20 and whose color changes depending on his mood. Prior to introducing himself to his new class, he managed to carve out a large chunk of the moon to become a permanent crescent moon. In a year, he plots to destroy the earth but decides to teach a junior high school class in the meantime for an unknown reason. With this strange creature having effectively taken over the world, the government reluctantly complies with his request on the condition that he does not harm his students.

Affectionately, the students of Class E call him Korosensei, which is a pun on the term korosenai (殺せない lit. unkillable or can't be killed) and sensei (先生). These same students greet him every day with assassination attempts in their journey to save the world by eventually murdering their own teacher, and to earn 10 billion yen from the government."
-Summary

This anime first struck to me as weird. Last year I've only heard that the story is about the students attempting to kill their alien-looking teacher. It was only this 2017 that I found out that this anime has more to than what it may seem. Class 3-E, or also known as the End Class. Is highly discriminated by the entire school itself. This class has a separate building on top of the mountain which is next to the main building. Not only is their building a complete wreck, every monthly gathering of every section in the school, they are looked down upon the other sections.

It was interesting to see all the student's failed attempts to kill their almost-unkillable teacher. Every situation was different from one to another. Throughout the school year, a few more students join in class 3-E. The story doesn't entirely focus on Nagisa, the only blue haired character, but focuses on the entire class which makes it more interesting. Even if there are some episodes where Nagisa doesn't have much screen time, it was fun to watch other students attempt to kill Korosensei themselves. It's almost as if you're part of the class too.

Ice Skating

This is what happens when you watch an ice skating anime...

Last month my family and I went out to ice skate. I've asked them numerous times before if I could at least just try it once. We then started searching for the nearest ice rink and saw that there was one in SM Megamall and SM Mall of Asia. My parents were a bit worried since rumors have it that the ice rink in SM Megamall was already removed, so we had no choice to go to SM moa. It was the day right after Christmas so I assumed that there were only a few people around since almost every Filipino had eaten to their heart's content the other day and would feel lazy on the next. It was mind boggling for me to see so much people in line waiting to get an entry ticket to the ice rink. That's what happens when you assume, it makes an 'ass' out of 'u' and 'me'.

Thankfully, the line was bearable as it moved every there minutes or so. Although the fact that it was three pm and we still didn't take our lunch made it feel like hell. Once we finally got our tickets we (my father, youngest brother and I) left our stuff with my mom and my other brother. The rest of the things we held onto were placed in a locker that we had to rent. I've always been a negative person so every time I watch Yuri on Ice (the Ice skating anime) I would always tell myself: "You can't do this. The ENTIRE environment changes. You've done volleyball because it was simply a game involved with a ball. but ice skating is one thing that you CAN'T do.". So it wasn't very surprising that I looked like an awkward penguin learning it's first steps on ice. I slipped twice, first was 'kinda' graceful. When I say 'kinda' I actually tried landing myself in a way were most of my body parts would get injured. It was the second fall that hurt so bad. I slipped backwards. So there's me quickly thinking of a way to land without injuring most of my vital parts like the head and spinal cord. I landed on my left elbow. I still got a bruise until today.

In the end my dad hated it because the shoes were uncomfortable and that he hates things that aren't easy on his first try. And my youngest brother hated it as well because someone pushed him causing him to slip and land on his tailbone. I only got to enjoy my "Born To Make History" moment for an hour when my dad called quits.
