One Piece Pirate Warriors 3 VS Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 4

Two Popular Anime In Games, Who Will Win This Battle?

The Difference? A huge one. For starters, yes, they're a completely different anime and the fact that they have completely different game plays doesn't mean that they can't be compared. There's this one element that the other lacks. What is it you ask? The story line.

In One Piece Pirate Warriors 3 we are given a strategic type of game play, wherein the player has to plan out his next move and where to move on the map. With this game play we are able to explore the entire area and conquer enemy's bases. They used this strategic game play to replay the entire series of the anime from it's first to the recent episode.

I wasn't aware of the game play or the story line at first (because at that time I wanted Naruto Storm 4) so I dived into the game not knowing what to expect. The cut scenes looked as if animators grew lazy and decided to make the characters stand there while they added the dialogue and their voices. The better cut scenes though was OK, the graphics isn't at its best and could've done better.Things were fine at first, very Sengoku Basara-like game play until I was almost finished with the game.

Basically majority of the conversations looked like this
When I was at the final arc (Dressrosa Arc) Things turned good to bad--worse even. I was so frustrated that the story line no longer followed the anime. I mean sure, maybe the anime hasn't reached that far but they should've stopped THERE. It was so disappointing. I was expecting that the last chapter of the game would show me the ending of the Dressrosa arc, but NO. It took a major turn once Luffy and the rest landed on that island.

The story line no longer followed the anime. How do I know this, well I've read the manga and have already advanced until Zou arc. I KNOW what's going to happen, but I didn't expect that the creators of the game would be so lenient on the anime. They should have followed the manga if the anime was left behind. If the manga wasn't finished at that time, then they could've stopped at the Punk Hazard arc. They shouldn't be making stuff up that will mislead outdated fans.

Now for the good sides of the game. They have a LOT of playable characters. All with their own combo and special ability ACCORDING to the anime. Another good thing is that this whole game is a summary of the entire series (unlike One piece Unlimited World Red, but that's another story.). There are some mini games that you could enjoy after beating the game. In this mini game you could unlock even more characters to use. Unfortunately that's the only special feature they gave. I guess those were all the good points I could think of about this game.

Moving on to Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 4, All I could say is that they did a GREAT job of making this game, and I'm not joking! You could already see it in the animations that they mixed CG with traditional (Japanese) art. I personally love how they made the intro <3 <3 So beautiful and well made!

Other than it's beautiful graphics it also follows the story line. At first I was disappointed by the first few cut scenes. It was exactly from the anime itself, like people just print screened the scene added the voices and ta-da! your very own cut scene! What I didn't expect that by the end of the game, where the anime left off, the game followed the actual story of Naruto Shippuden. It made me so happy to play the game that was in line with the story.

Unfortunately, the game only features a certain part of the anime. They only continued their last game Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 on the PS3. Which is a little disappointing but understandable. In this game, it's more of a fighting-styled game play. Kinda like Tekken but with Chakra and items and teleportation and stuff like that. It's like a ninja version of Tekken if you know what I mean.

There's also a minigame that you can play after completing the story mode. It's more of an aftermath of the 4th Great War (Before Naruto the Last Movie). I can't say much about the mini game since Masashi Kishimoto didn't reveal any scenes from that time so I can't argue with them (the game creators) there.

I do especially love the fact that they added new characters (of course). Though the characters that I'm looking for is sadly in a DLC (downloadable content). Here's a video of me battling with a friend of mine ;) (I'm on the left, I just love old Team 7)
Anyway the only downside to this is that most of it's cool features is in a DLC (which is around $2.99 or less) and that it doesn't show much of Boruto. What do you think? Does One Piece Pirate Warriors 3 win? or Does Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 overthrows the battle? You decide! (In my case Naruto Shippuden wins by a mile)

The two game covers above are found on google:
I was the one who made the screenshot of Nami and Zoro's cut scene
Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 Opening video was found on Yourtube
The last video was recorded on my mobile device and uploaded on my YT account!
