Kuroshitsuji (Black Butler) Manga Review

Chapter 117: "A Mislead Blade You Cannot Embrace"
Cover page for this month's chapter

Finally, the continuation of the long- awaited manga! I have to say it's a disappointment that this new chapter only has 26 pages. I have no rights to complain though, since writing the story and drawing the manga is complicated (Especially if you're the one doing it all). But here it is! the action scene we've all been waiting for! Sebastian Vs. Elizabeth!
Kuroshitsuji Chapter 117 page 10 of 26
I just loved the action, the mystery and the art! The story may be progressing really slow, but it'll make you want to stare at the pages longer than necessary. Every detail and amount of effort can be seen on just this one page. I really respect manga artists for their hard work.

The chapter begins immediately at a battle scene where Elizabeth acts as the guard of the four 'stars'. Sebastian is forced to dodge all of her deadly attacks. He didn't want to hurt her since she is after all, Ciel's fiancee. He even thought that things would be easier if she weren't his master's fiancee. On the next page of the image above, Sebastian praises Elizabeth for having amazing strength for human standards. This is very rare. Sebastian praising a human? I don't recall any other events where he had praised a human for their strength. He had most likely said this just because the young mistress was able to cut a small piece of his bow tie.

After blowing a strong hit on her stomach, Elizabeth was defeated. Sebastian tied her up with his coat for safety measures and proceeded into the prohibited rooms. He had discovered that the fortune teller and his 'stars' were indeed taking blood from their customers. The butler then proceeded to the rooms of the 'stars' to investigate.

Sebastian proceeded to take Elizabeth back home to his young master's mansion. Elizabeth's brother was worried sick and had stayed in the Phantomhive manor during Sebastian's investigation. Upon seeing his sister in the butler's arms, he wanted that place to be destroyed. Unfortunately, Sebastian did no such thing as burning the Music hall down or even destroying it. He explains how buildings are just a symbolism of the people's beliefs. If he were to destroy it, it will not waver the people's belief of the fortune teller and might even start a revolution because of this.

In the last scene we see that Elizabeth escaped from the manor. I believe that she's not brainwashed, more like she's doing things because someone threatened her. Another thing is that no one can easily sneak past Sebastian. Sebastian was either roaming around at night was aware that Elizabeth is escaping but his master was asleep but made no move on detaining her because there was no order to do so or Ciel specifically ordered Sebastian to let her escape to see if she's doing it out of her own will or is being controlled by the enemies. Either way we'll see what will happen in the next chapter which will be released a month from now or so.

That concludes this review for Kuroshitsuji. What do you think of this month's chapter? I think that it's as awesome as ever. Thank you Toboso Yana for another great chapter!
