Kuroshitsuji (Black Butler) review

Chapter 118: That Butler, Remodeling

Another fantastic chapter drawn and written by Yana Toboso. The truth is finally revealed as well as Ciel's next move! The secret of this case was so simple!

Chapter 118 That Butler, Remodeling cover
The story continues with Agni, prince Soma's butler, barging in the conversation. Elizabeth had escaped from the manor, although Sebastian wasn't so surprised since he knows about it. Ciel grew frustrated that Sebastian didn't even chase after her. The butler then explains that it is because something has greatly captured Elizabeth's heart which results to her acting that way. As Ciel pondered on their next move, there was a ruckus downstairs.

Angrily, Ciel went to investigate only to find A sea of children had filled the first floor of the building. Price Soma and Agni explains that they're having another one of their 'Food Drives'. The prince was explaining that he holds up Food Drives every once in a while in order to help the poor children at the streets of London. Agni was very well aware of Ciel's rage and had tried to silence his master. When Ciel asks the children why they kept coming back, their reply was that the food was great and that the people were nice to them. That's when the idea struck Ciel like a bullet. He had laughed at himself for not seeing the obvious.
The Phantom Five making their grand entrance
Every fourth Saturday, a show is performed to entertain the guests. But this time, Ciel's plan had already begun. A new group of boys stole the spotlight calling themselves the "Phantom Five". They immediately stole the hearts of the audience. Soon we're shown that Ciel had bought the place already stating that he only spent half of what he expected to pay. Which concludes that Ciel is probably a billionaire, or maybe even richer. He just bought a large old abandoned theater like it was nothing! He had also renovated and remodeled it as well. Giving his new establishment's name as "Funtom Music Hall". Ciel had related the case to prince Soma's Food Drive. If Ciel had something even better than the 'stars' then he could win the people over the fortuneteller. At least that was what Ciel concluded and to think that it was so simple as well.

The chapter ends with the fortune teller looking into Ciel's window helplessly. To me it feels lie the case was far too easy. I'm pretty sure that the fortune teller won't back down anytime soon, but who knows? We haven't seen much of Undertaker in the previous chapters. All  can say is that the suspense is killing me.
