One Piece Episode 751 Review

Curtain-up on a New Adventure! Arriving at the Phantom Island, Zou!

It's been a while since I've made a One Piece Review... Well it's because the previous episodes were fillers. I guess the animators wanted to stall time and fill in a short gap in Luffy and Bartolomeo's adventure... Anyway's we're an episode late and I'll do the latest episode review next week. Now, on to the show!
One Piece Episode 751 title screen
We're showed a flashback of how Luffy got his Straw Hat. As we all know, Shanks, the pirate Luffy looks up to, saved him from a sea monster and lost his arm in the process. He then gave Luffy his Straw Hat and made a promise to return it to him once they see each other again. Luffy also promises to become the Pirate King while doing so. Our flashback ends as Bartolomeo was actually re-telling the story to his crew. He said that he got this information when he interviewed Luffy. Next he told the story of how Luffy managed to get Zoro, his swordsman and right hand man, in his crew. How they recruited Usopp, Nami, Sanji, Chopper, Robin, Franky and Brook was also recalled in the story by short memorable scenarios of the older One Piece episodes.

You could say that it's an episode of the past. It shows the most touching scenes of the anime and reminds the viewers of how much the Straw Hat Pirates have been to. They aren't indestructible, they're just strong. But even the strong had passed through some phases of their lives to become how strong they are now. It's not really an episode I would recommend to those who are following the One Piece series, but it's a definitely must watch episode for those who are only familiar to the anime. This episode will give them the essence and important of 'nakama' which in other term means family, friends, team mates, and the like.

Eighteen minutes later, Luffy is finally shown on screen as the Barto Club was struck by lightning. Obviously nothing happened to our rubbery protagonist but I can't say that for sure on the Barto Club's side. We're shown a short scene in the Marine Base that they were talking about this pirate who claims to be Whitebeard's son. Although that's not sure yet, for the fact was Whitebeard has no children. We are left with an unclear answer. A week after leaving Dressrosa, the Barto Club advances to Zou island at a calm rate.

We're then shown the island of Zou to be a giant Elephant walking in the ocean of the New World. The name zou was applied literally. In this case zou means elephant, and the cities and structures were on the back of the withered elephant. It was revealed that the elephant has been alive for more than a thousand years, walking and walking and never stopping. Trafalgar Law explained to them that there's a tribe on Zou island who hates humans. People who have set foot on the island were never to be heard from again. The episode ends with Luffy's astonished reaction.

Nothing much really happened in the episode, I guess they were wasting time again by putting flashbacks for eighteen minutes. Not really an enjoyable episode for those who still follow One Piece.
