Fanfiction Recommendations #1

Akatsuki Babysitters? Rewrite

Written by: writer168
Four Year old Sakura and the Akatsuki.
This was one of the first few books that I've read on Wattpad. Yes, it may be a fanfiction but do not underestimate the author's writing abilities. I've read a lot of fanfictions that... weren't that decent but this one is truly a masterpiece. I've read a few other stories from writer168 and I've got two more of his books in my awesome list.

We all know that Sakura is the weak and helpless girl of team 7 but in this book, she's Nagato and Konan's child. The story takes place wherein her father, the leader of the notorious criminal organization, decides to place her within the group he leads. His intention was so that all the members would change in a better way and he believes that his daughter can change them. Soon enough Nagato placed a new rule within their base. Who ever member is left in the base, they have the responsibility to take care of Sakura.

Not long after, Sakura has warmed up all of these criminal's hearts with her kind and selfless personality. The story has it's humors here and there but it's main plot has a tragic twist. Within the chapters it will hint that Sakura has some sort of decease. It then reveals that she suffers from Acute Myelogenous Leukemia. It's a decease where her bone marrow produces abnormal myeloblasts, a type of white blood cell. It can be treated with chemotherapy but since this time takes place within the ninja eras, chemotherapy is still in development. In other words, she's dying.

This fact was only revealed within the second to the last chapter: "Of Butterflies and Flowers" where her mother reveals the secret to the other Akatsuki members. This had devastated them. Their one and only light within the darkness of their world is slowly fading. Sakura never asked for anything in return, she knew that she was dying from the start and she lived the life she wanted. She died with no regrets and had a smile on her face the next morning. It broke my heart that Sakura's last wish was never fulfilled.

She had wished to see the sunrise one last time, but died painlessly in her sleep instead. To be honest I cried at this story, it just pulls you into the book itself as if you're there with the characters which makes this a great book. I had no problems or complains from it's ending. The author added an epilogue where it shows that the Akatsuki members had changed drastically. Like how Sasori became patient and how Deidara cut his own hair (in a chapter Sakura pleaded if she could cut his hair one day).

To conclude I love this story. How it's written, how the characters developed and so on ans so forth. If you want to give it a read you can search it up on Wattpad by it's title or it's author. This book had made me rethink that maybe not all bad people are wrong. Just because they're wrong doesn't make you right, there's always a story behind everyone's mask.
